Hiking at Red Rock

For two weekends we took the boys up to Red Rock to go hiking. It was so nice to be out in nature! The boys were incredible hikers, especially little Kyle! He walked like he knew exactly what to do and where to walk. The first weekend the boys climbed on rocks and there was still a little bit of snow on the ground. Eric made Kyle a "man man" (snowman). He was ecstatic to hold a little snowman in his hands.

While the boys were hiking, Connor watched them. He was very excited to play on the rocks too!!

Eric helping Kyle make his "man-man". Below that is Kyle holding up his prize!

Connor and I (Kade took the picture)

The for the second weekend we went to Lost Creek. It is a children's trail only about a half a mile both ways. Since all the snow was melting there was a little stream on our way up. We stopped to eat our delicious Subway on our way up. Once we hiked all the way up there was a waterfall with a little lagoon. It was beautiful!!

Here is how Connor hikes....on Daddy's shoulders.

It was super hard for the boys (JK)....they had to use stairs.

Kyle carefully climbing on and off a big rock.

When we were eating Connor just wanted to play with the rocks.

Climbing through rocks.

Kyle is an expert climber....he can climb and eat at the same time.

The waterfall! None of the people in these pictures have us in them, just random people.

We are so glad we were able to go up Red Rock. Hiking is becoming one of our favorite things to do. It will be even more fun when little Connor is walking.

Happy Birthday, Connor!!!

I can't believe it has been a year already! It seems like the more kids you have the faster their lives go. It seemed to take forever for Kade to be a sunbeam. I know at the time I found out I was pregnant with Connor I was almost crying my eyes out. However, he has been such a blessing. He is such a happy, easy going little guy. I really believe he was sent to us at that time for a special purpose. I don't know what yet, I just feel that way.

A little about Connor....
*He is always Happy
*He loves, loves his brothers. He likes to watch them act like crazy boys, however, he is now starting to join them.
*He eats anything and everything. Mashed potatoes, yougurt, and cheese are his ultimate favorites though. For how small he is, he eats more than his brothers.
*He is always happy.
*He is crawling everywhere. Just this week he figured out how to climb up the stairs. He is not very interested in walking yet.
*He is the best sleeper in the world. He has been sleeping from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. ever since he was 4 months old. When he wakes up he just talks to himself. Kyle than wakes up and goes into his room to play.
*He LOVES his daddy. He is so excited when he gets home at night.
*His favorite words is "ma" and "ooo".

On his birthday we had a small party. Earlier that day we went shopping for presents and bought his balloons. Later that evening, after daddy got home, Grandma, Bryan, Uncle Ryan, Uncle Jeff, and Erica came by to celebrate. I think Connor was very excited to be getting so much attention.

Here is Kade and Kyle being excited to celebrate Connor's birthday.

                                                         The birthday boy!!

                                                                      His many faces at 1!

All three of them. Connor wouldn't keep his hat on.

All of his presents and cake!

A close up of his yummy cake!

                                                                  His birthday cards.

                                                                        His balloons.

He was so excited to open his presents. He crawled right over to them. Of course his brothers were anxious to help him open his gifts. In the bottom center is opening up Erica and Jeff's presents. All of the boys love the blocks. They even fight over them.

Opening Nana and Papa's and Grandma Fern's present.

After eating, having cake, opening presents, and playing for a little bit Connor decided he was tired. He went crawling up the stairs to bed. He was so grateful to have such a wonderful first birthday. Thanks to everyone that came and those who were not able to be there, but sent him a gift. We love you little Connor!!!

Moving....

It has been a long, long time since I last posted. Life has been crazy!!! Ever since New Year's Eve, our lives have been up and down. We found out Eric was offered a job in Boise at Micron and in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Sands Corporation (Venetian/Palazzo). It was an extremely tuff decision to make and we had very little time to make it. We felt more at peace with moving to Las Vegas. I don't know why. I just think we are here again for a purpose. Moving was HORRIBLE, especially for Eric. Next time we move long distance I am definitely calling a moving company. It is so much easier and they can fit everything into their truck.

Eric's job is going well. He enjoys working for LVSC. The boys are great!!! They love having the space to run and play inside the house. We are getting adjusted to our new ward. I am a little out of sync. I really enjoyed taking Kade to preschool and going to park group. I know we weren't there for very long, but I really miss Foster City. I miss all of the new friends I was making and my calling. I loved preparing a lesson each week and teaching it to the kids. I miss them and their willingness to learn. I am excited to find a preschool for Kade to go to. Not only so we can get out of the house every once in awhile, but for Kade to get back into learning with a group and I have adults to talk to every once in awhile.

Our new house is really nice and big. We are getting adjusted to it and we can't wait for a yard to be put in. That way the boys can run outside and release all of their energy while I attempt to get and keep the house all clean. Here is pictures of our new house.

Having the stairs towards the back of the house and next to the kitchen is so nice. The flooring in this house is really nice, especially when it is clean (which is hard to do with three little monkeys walking/crawling around).

I will be posting about Christmas and anything else soon. I am trying to get use to working on a laptop since our actual computer is not working. I also got my camera back. After we left Best Buy I was not happy. Kade could tell and he said "They are not the best". It is funny how little kids see things.

Funny sayings!

The boys and I were driving down the road heading to some store. We were listening to Christmas music and "Santa Baby" came on. This is what I hear Kade say from the back seat...."Santa's not a baby" when she sings "Santa Baby" and "Santa's not a cutie" when she sings "Santa Cutie". Made me laugh!

Kyle is 2!

Kyle has turned 2. For his birthday this year we didn't do much. The boys and I arrived home the day before his birthday and Eric had to leave for Portland the very next day. As soon as we left the airport we went to one of our favortie restaurant, Red Robin. They are so "kid" oriented. When we were done we went home. I hurried and wrapped Kyle's presents and than he opened them. His favorite presents....a toy microwave (Nana and Papa) and vacuum (Grandma). Now whenever the real microwave beeps he say "done, done". While I am vacuuming he also vacuums. He also received a dish set (so he won't play with mine, thanks Nana and Papa), a "Thomas the Train" train track, a shopping cart from Aunt Becky,  a guitar (like Kade's) from Grandma Fern and cards. It was a really fun birthday with just us!

A face of excitement!

Connor wanting to play eat and play with the paper.

He finally starts being interested in the train track.

The next day we went to the store and purchased a cake (I know I am SO creative). It was delicious! When it was sitting on the counter, when I wasn't watching, he pushed a stool over, lifted up the lid and started eating the frosting. That's our Kyle!!! He did a fantastic job at blowing out his candle.

I LOVE this picture of Mr. Kyle!

Big breath!!

So happy he blew it out!

Now that his birthday is over a little bit about Mr. Kyle AKA Mr. Boo. Kyle is our most energetic out of the three. He can make me laugh one minute and be completely frustrated the next. He enjoys making messes, such a little boy. I have to remember to never give him a bag of chips or crackers. He will be eating them one minute and spilling them all over the floor the next. He does help me clean up though! He LOVES to tease Kade. He enjoys taking something away from Kade and running. However, they do play well together too. I have caught them "reading" some books together. Too cute! He loves Connor. He gives him lots of hugs and kisses, but sometimes, when he is upset, he will push Connor down. Probably because Connor is smaller and can't do anything about it, yet. As a baby Kyle did not like to cuddle very much. Now, when he wants to, he loves to cuddle and snuggle. He will come sit with me on the rocking chair, snuggle, and fall asleep. He won't go to sleep without me laying beside him. Kyle likes to read books with me. He always points up to Kades bed (that is where the books are) and says "more, more". I have been told, twice by older women, that he is "such a pretty little girl". I think "really, he is dressed like a little boy and acts like a little boy". They tell me I need to cut his hair, but we really like it. It fits his personality and reminds us of a California surfer guy. His vocabulary is growing every day. He now knows how to tell me Kade is being mean. He will point to Kade, have big alligator tears and say "Dade". He is super excited when daddy come home. He will run down the stairs saying "daddy". I am excited to see how much he grows and changes this next year! Hopefully he doesn't give me too much of the "terrible 2's". But if he does we still love this little guy to pieces. He brings so much more laughter to our lives.
