It doesn't seem like that long ago since we were celebrating Connor's first birthday. Now we are wishing him a happy 2nd Birthday!!! Kyle really gets in to telling everybody "Happy Holidays" or something like that. Almost the entire week he kept saying "Happy Birthday, Connor". Sometimes he would even sing "Happy Birthday Connor" to him. Connor seemed to know it was his birthday because he was happy from the moment he woke up to the minute he went to bed. Probably because Kade and Kyle knew they had to be especially nice to him since it was his birthday. Here is Connor the day before his birthday. He is so silly. He would wear his hat the day before, but would absolutely not wear a hat on his birthday.
In the morning we made sure the house was clean, all his presents were wrapped and the decorations were up. In the afternoon we went to Town Square with Grandma to get some "birthday" ice cream. The boys are hilarious when they eat an ice cream cone. Only Kyle stayed clean.
They also played at the playground at Town Square. Here is Connor attempting to go down the slide and just running around.
After they were done playing we left to pick up the pizza and meet everyone at the house for Connor's party. Zoo animals was the theme for his party this year.
Presents and cards
Decorations (after the party we hung the zoo sign and animals in their bathroom)
Balloons
Connor having some yummy pizza.
Here is last year on his first birthday.
Opening presents. He was so much fun to watch open presents. He would open one and want to play with it. He would eventually open another one but then want to play with it.
Blowing out his candles. It was fun watching him do this too. At first he didn't know what to do so I lit a candle and asked Kade and Kyle to show him what to do. After a few minutes, and Kyle continually blowing out the candle, he blew it out. Before blowing the candle out he wanted to extinguish the flame with his fingers. That would have hurt!
Eating cake.
The basketball hoop all the boys love to play with :)
After his big day, still smiling with drool coming out.
Kyle in matching p.j.'s that Grandma bought.
A little about Connor....
*As long as his brothers are not hurting him he is very happy.
*He is still a really good sleeper. It doesn't take him forever to go to sleep. He is out almost as soon as we lay him down and snuggle with him.
*He is really starting to say a lot of words. I think it is funny right after I call Kade I hear Connor saying "tade".
*He loves cheetos puffs and fruit snacks. Healthy I know.
*He is kind hearted. He will pick up a toy and give it to Kade or Kyle if it is theirs. The other morning he came upstairs with three Nutrigrain bars. He gave one to Kade and one to Kyle.
*He is a lot like Kade where he likes to help out. He will help throw things in the garbage and clean out the dishwasher. He is learning how to put his toys away.
*He is taking the place of Kyle where he loves to make messes. Luckily he helps clean it up most of the time.
*He is having a hard time going to nursery. However, once he is in there he eventually falls asleep during the whole two hours.
*He loves to say "bye da" when Eric leaves and is very excited when he gets home. He will run, sometimes stand at the top of the stairs, saying "hi da" over and over again until he see him.
*We love to watch him dance. It is so funny!
*When he acts like he going to throw a ball he usually has perfect stance. He LOVES balls. Anything that has a ball involved he loves. He might be our very athletic one in the family.
Here is one of my favorite pictures of him. One day I was busy doing something, I can't remember what. It was really quiet! I wondered where Connor was. This was how I found him. He is such a sweet little guy, filled with so much love and brightness.
Although he was a surprise, we are so lucky to have him in our family!!!
We love you little Connor!!
